The women's basketball team traveled to Linfield and Lewis and Clark on Feb. 16 and 17. They split the games but still clinched the NWC title. In their first game they lost to Lewis and Clark 68-58 but came back to beat Linfield 62-67 to finish the season with a 20-5 record and a share for the Northwest Conference title.

With the loss to Lewis and Clark the Loggers fell into a tie for first place. This loss was largely attributable to poor shooting. Lewis and Clark had a small lead at halftime and then increased their lead to double digits in the second half. The Lady Loggers did attempt a comeback, but unfortunately fell short.

Junior Marissa Cain played well for the Loggers scoring an impressive nine points in the first half and ultimately finishing with a total of 12 points. Senior Shelby Ramirez also had 12 points. The UPS' defense, however, could not stop Lewis and Clark's Sarah Moon from racking up a game-high of 19 points.
The following game was the end of the regular season for the Lady Loggers. Despite the loss UPS would still be able to clinch the title with a win against Linfield.

The Loggers opened with a basket from sophomore Karen Chase to take the lead. While Linfield was able to tie the score multiple times they never managed to accumulate their own lead.

UPS never trailed in the battle against Linfield. The Loggers finished the first half strong on a 10-0 run to take a 10 point lead into the break. They continued their dominance in the second half leading by double digits up until a late Linfield rally cut the deficit to only 2 points. Despite Linfield's efforts, UPS was able to hold on for a close win of 62-67.

Shelby Ramirez had another strong performance chipping in 12 points with sophomore Allison Craven adding 11 points of her own. Ramirez also dominated the board pulling down eight rebounds.

Puget Sound finished the season with a 13-3 record in conference play and overall record of 20-5 to secure a first place tie with George Fox for the NWC title. Up next for the Loggers will be the NWC tournament, where they will enter as the number two cede and will host Linfield on Thursday, Feb. 22.
