The Puget Sound golf teams continued to show why they are among the front-runners in the Northwest Conference after strong showings over the weekend at the Pacific Invitational down in Oregon. The women finished second in the invite at Quail Valley GC in Banks, Ore. while the Logger men placed third in the tournament, held at Meriwether National GC in Hillsboro, Ore. and Pumpkin Ridge GC in North Plains, Ore.

The Logger women were led by senior Emily Lau, who shot a 171 (85-86) to place fifth in the field of 23. Adrienne Parrish also had a strong weekend, finishing eighth overall with a score of 181 (88-93). Concordia (Ore.) won the team title with score of 683, 34 strokes better than the second place Loggers. Linfield's Leslie Wheeler took medalist honors with a score of 161 (77-84).

On the men's side, a third place finish from Tim Bartz helped the Loggers finish third in the six-team field. Bartz shot a 150 (75-75) to take third place, just two strokes behind the winner. Marc Phillips and Jason Boettner also posted two sub-80 rounds each to finish tied for sixth and 13th respectively. Concordia (Ore.) also took the men's title with a score of 604, 13 strokes better than the Loggers. Jason Casey of Pacific Lutheran took medalist honors with a score of 148 (77-71).
