In their first event of 2007, the Puget Sound Logger rowers looked strong at the Daffodil Cup on American Lake in Lakewood, Wash. The Logger women took three first place finishes while the Logger men found themselves competitive all day.

On the women's side, the Loggers were dominant in the varsity eight races, narrowly finishing in second in the first race and then easily taking first in the second race. In the varsity four, the Loggers again picked up a win in the second race after finishing behind Pacific Lutheran and Portland in the first race. On the novice side, the Loggers placed second and third in the novice eight but took the win in the novice four to wrap up a solid first outing.

On the men's side, the Loggers were competitive with Division I Gonzaga and Washington State all day, even beating all teams in the varsity four to take first with a time of 7:08.3.

The Loggers will take the water again on Saturday morning as they will travel down to Vancouver, Wash. for the Northwest Collegiate Rowing Conference (NCRC) Invitational, beginning at 7:40 a.m.
